The Proposal
The Vision
A cinematic, broadcast-quality documentary (30–45 minutes) capturing the 175-year legacy of the Auglaize County Fair. This film will blend archival history with the high-energy pulse of the 2026 and 2027 fairs to ensure this milestone is preserved for the next 175 years.
Narrative Arc
Narrative Scope: The Three Pillars

1. The Roots (Past): The 1852 founding, surviving the Great Depression and wars, and the evolution of the fairgrounds.

2. The Pulse (Present): A behind-the-scenes look at the 175th anniversary. The sights, sounds, and unsung heroes (volunteers, board members, and lifelong vendors).

3. The Legacy (Future): The vital role of 4-H and FFA. How the fair remains relevant in a digital age by teaching the next generation the value of hard work and community.
Production Timeline (2-Year Strategy)
Phase 1: Discovery (Q1–Q2 2026): Archival research, "Call for Photos" community drive, and initial script treatment. Stakeholder discovery.

Phase 2: The "Hype" Capture (August 2026): Filming high-energy b-roll and "anticipation" interviews during the 2026 fair to create a 175th-anniversary teaser.

Phase 3: The Deep Dive (Spring 2027): 10–12 solo, sit-down "Legacy Interviews" in controlled environments (historians, board president, manager, multi-generational fair families, etc).

Phase 4: The Milestone (August 2027): Full-scale filming of the 175th Anniversary festivities.

Phase 5: Completion (Fall 2027): Final editing, color grading, and sound design for a November/December 2027 Grand Premiere.
What the Fair Receives: Deliverables
1. The Feature Film: A 30–45 minute documentary for public screenings, DVD/USB sales, and historical archives.

2. Marketing Suite: 5x "Heritage Moment" social media clips (60 seconds each) to drive ticket sales for the 175th Fair.

3. The Hype Trailer: A 2-minute cinematic trailer released in early 2027.

4. Raw Archive: Copies of all full-length interviews.
Investment & Sustainability
The 175th Anniversary Documentary is designed to be a self-sustaining project. Rather than a flat expense, this is a strategic investment in the fair’s marketing and historical preservation.

Estimated Project Cost:
Total Investment: $30,000 – $40,000
This reflects a two-year production cycle, 500+ professional hours, cinema-grade equipment, and a comprehensive suite of over 15 digital deliverables.

Sponsorship model (if needed):
Grand Champion sponsor - $15,000
Reserve Champion sponsor - $10,000
Division sponsor - $8,000
Class sponsor - $5,000
Partner sponsor - $2,000

Payment Schedule:
Payment 1: $16,000
Upon signing contract

Payment 2: $12,000
Triggered by delivery of 2-minute trailer (Spring 2027)

Payment 3: $12,000
Upon delivery of final documentary video (Nov./Dec. 2027)

Long-Term Sustainability & ROI:

Ticket Sales Driver: The 5 social media "Heritage Moments" and the "Road to 175" trailer act as high-value advertisements to increase gate attendance for 2027.

A Perpetual Asset: Unlike a radio ad or billboard, this film never expires. It can be used for the 180th, 190th, and 200th anniversaries, providing value for decades.

Merchandise Revenue: The Fair retains the rights to sell the documentary on keepsake USB drives or through Digital Access passes, creating a new revenue stream for the 2027 season.

Historical Preservation: You are essentially hiring a professional archivist to digitize and organize 175 years of community history (a service that would independently cost thousands).
